St. Benedict School in Pinetown celebrated its Founder’s Feast Day with a special Mass in August. The Mass was followed by a tea for staff and special guests. The whole school then united to share in their good fortune by making sandwiches for the homeless people of Durban. Nkosi and Bongani from the Denis Hurley Centre spoke to the school about their challenges of being homeless and how they overcame them, led by Sr Cathy Murugen. High School learners then partnered with learners in the Primary school to make the sandwiches. The bread for the sandwiches was very kindly donated by BB Bread and the sandwiches were given to the Denis Hurley Centre in Durban for distribution.
