Our learners joined in the fun by celebrating Slipper Day on Friday. Learners loved the opportunity to wear their comfy slippers to school with their uniforms. All funds raised went to...
On Friday, 29 July the school celebrated St Benedict’s Feast Day with Mass. Bishop Barry Wood OMI was the main celebrant with Fr Michael the co-celebrant. Bishop Barry gave a thought provoking message on mercy and extending mercy to all we meet. The entire school gave thanks for the many blessings that God has bestowed upon the school this year and for the past 60 years. The Word was brought up in dance, many past pupils joined in the celebration by reading the prayers of the faithful and the high school and primary school choirs all sang beautifully, leading the school in song.
From 11h00 to 12h00 the entire school took part in 60 minutes of community service. Each class chose a charity and spent the 60 minutes making cards/placemats for prisoners, sandwiches for the homeless or wrapping mugs and soup for the aged to name but a few.
To quote a learner: “This may sound weird, but it feels good to help others”
