Malindisa Thwala, a Grade 2 pupil at St Benedict School, recently participated in the 4th Regional KZN Championship for CMATHS in Kloof. 320 learners participated and did exams in both Abacus (Soroban) Maths and Mental Maths. Malindisa won the Champion Trophy which meant that he placed second in his age group. In addition to this, Malindisa was also one of 40 learners who were selected from across the different grades, to represent South Africa at the international Pan Pacific Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Association (PAMA) competition which was due to be held in December at the Sandton Convention Centre. Unfortunately, this has since been postponed until 2015.

Well done Malindisa!
